Causes Of Bad Breath

Literally talking all humanbeings are badbreathres. Oral cavity contains millions of anaerobic bacteria like fusobacterium as well as actinomyces which acts on the protein of meals supplies as well as putrifies them. This particular course of action results in the formation of offenssive gases like hydrogen sulphide, methyl mescaptan, cadaverin, skatol, putrescine etc causing poor odor. If oral hygiene is not maintained properly all will suffer from bad breath. Most of us control this by regular brushing, tongue cleaning and gargling. Even with maintining cleanliness in the jaws some people suffer from offenssive smell because of various causes which must be diagnosed as well as treated properly.

Some common causes of bad breath.

1) Poor dental hygiene:

When oral hygiene is not maintained properly the mouth becomes the seat for millions of bacteria which generate offenssive gases by degrading the food debris. Bad breath is severe in those who don’t brush their teeth regularly and clean the mouth of theirs after every food. Snacks taken between meals might also take halitosis because of improper cleaning.

Badbreath is prevalent in virtually all people in the morning on waking. During sleep there is much less production of saliva.Saliva has got some antibacterial properties which help you to preserve the mouth fresh. Saliva conains oxygen molecules that is needed to make oral cavity aerobic. And so the lowering of it’s quantity during sleep can make a favourable shape supplements for teeth health – – anaerobic bacteria.

2) Food habits:

The main root cause of bad smell can be due to degradation of protein by the bacteria and therefore all food products rich in protein favours halitosis. Meat, fish, milk products, eggs, cakes, nuts, pear and etc is able to cause bad breath. Some food articles are able to make particular type of smell which may be unpleasent. Raw onion is able to produce typical bad smell. It is said that an apple a day keeps the physician away,a raw onion one day keeps everybody away. Eating groundnuts might also produce bad smell. However if appropriate cleaning is done smell could be reduced regardless of the nature of food. Irregularity in timing of food may also produce bad breath. Little meal articles taken in between the meals also can take bad smell.

3) Biofilm:

There’s formation of a thin gluey coating known as biofilm on dental mucosa and the tongue. This coating is thick on the posterior aspect of the tongue where countless gram negative bacteriae are seen. The heavy coating on the tongue is generally associated with badbreath. Actually a small biofilm is able to make anaerobic condition favourable for bacterial proliferation.
